Hello Alexandra, read of your work with interest. Thought you might be interested in a 25-year collection of letters, photos, scrawled ur-posters that I donated to the city of sydney archives. Here’s their blurb, “Michael Bogle is a writer, historian and curator who specialises in the history of everyday life in Australia.
Bogle gave the City of Sydney’s archives department three folders of personalised notes, drawings and homemade posters he had collected from the streets of Surry Hills and Darlinghurst over 25 years. He also donated a fourth folder containing personalised ephemera, which included extreme messages and musings…”. You can check it out on http://www.cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au/learn/history/archives/catalogues-and-search-tools/past-in-print-project/the-michael-bogle-ephemera-collection. There is great material in this lot, especially found photos of all types.

Hi, thanks so much for passing that on. I can’t wait to have a proper look through the collection. What a great project! I’m sure I will find the letters fascinating.
I’m really excited to keep collecting love letters and expand the project. Again, thanks for thinking of me!
Let me know if you have any problems accessing it. There are two letters that have been taken down (Teweksbury Avenue and Bourke/ Phelps Street). I will let you know when new letters are up in their place!
